Easy Tofu Mushroom Veggie Patty (Vegan, Vegetarian)

Tofu can be used to make a lot of tasty & healthy dishes. 


  • 1/2 container firm or extra firm tofu (well-drained)
  • 1 small onion (white or yellow, diced)
  • 3 spring onions (diced)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 3/4 cup mushrooms (fresh, diced small)
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  1. Press and drain the tofu.
  2. Gently mash into small crumbles in a large bowl. 
  3. Sauté the diced white or yellow onion and garlic in olive oil for 3 to 5 minutes, until the onions are soft.
  4. Add the green onions, and the chopped mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes, or until mushrooms are cooked. 
  5. Add flour, soy sauce, and a dash of pepper into the bowl along with the tofu and mix to combine well. 
  6. Gently form the tofu mixture into patties, pressing everything together to form round patties about 1-inch thick. 
  7. Heat about two tablespoons of oil and cook each patty until the tofu veggie burgers are done, about 5 minutes on each side. You can also use an indoor grill pan to grill your veggie burgers if you have one. 
  8. Serve with your chosen toppings!
